The Base Flood Elevation letter does not imply that the reference property will or will not be free from flooding or damage.
A property not in a Special Flood Hazard Area may be damaged by a flood greater than that predicted on the Flood
Insurance rate map (FIRM) or from a local drainage problem not shown on the map. This letter does not create liability on
the part of MSD, or any officer or employee thereof, for any damage that results from reliance on this determination.
Properties located within the Local Regulatory Floodplain are subject to the Louisville Metro Floodplain Ordinance.
Properties within these floodplains have limitations related to new construction, including but not limited to, new structures,
additions and all renovations. Please call 502-587-0603 prior to any planned construction activity. A property which is NOT
in a FEMA Special Flood Hazard Area cannot be assumed to be out of a locally regulated floodplain.

contact us.
(1) What if I can't find my house number or street name when making a request?
Here are three possible solutions:
-
You may not have entered the address in an acceptable format. Please enter addresses in the following format: House Number, Street Direction, Street Name and Street Type. For example: 700 West Liberty Street. There are cases when the Street Direction or Type may not be applicable for your address. Please enter your address in the described format even if it resides in a multi unit complex or is a half house or rear. You will be prompted for the specific unit.
-
The service will return a list of candidates if your exact address, as provided, cannot be found in our records. In this case, please select a candidate to continue submitting your request.
-
Another option is to locate your address by Parcel ID. It consists of the property's Block, Lot and Sublot values provided by the Jefferson County Property Valuation Administrator. For example, the Parcel ID for Block: 014J, Lot: 0169, Sublot: 0000 is 014J01690000.
(2) How do I know when the process is finished?
Once you have submitted the request, you will be given a request number. The base flood elevation letter will be completed and emailed to the address provided within 5 business days of the request.
(3) Why haven't I received an email response yet?
Here are some possible reasons:
-
If you submitted an invalid email address or one that is not spelled correctly, the email cannot be delivered. If your email server is configured to return undeliverable emails, MSD will be notified and will attempt to contact you by phone. If your email server is not configured in this manner, there is no way for MSD to know that you never received the email that was sent.
-
If you have spam-blocking software and have not added internetapps@lojic.org to your list of acceptable addresses, you may not receive the email.
